Capstan was appointed by the Imperial War Museum in Duxford to refurbish the existing Grade II listed building (Building 59) in anticipation of the Battle of Britain anniversary.

Due to the historical significance of the building, Capstan had to liaise with the client throughout the works to make sure the finished product reflected the past function of Building 59 while complying with current regulations. For example, a specialist decorator was brought in by Capstan to advise on the colour scheme which made use of the traditional British racing green that also acted as a contrast colour for the visitors.
